Today we take a spin through the sonic atmosphere that songwriter Carole King created. I remember exactly where I was (Hawaii on the south shore) when I first heard her music. The blend of her folk style with some jazz harmony included really touched me. It's been a good time returning to her songs for this outing.
We’ve got her hits, including “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” and “It’s Too Late” plus a few songs that I recently discovered. All of the tunes take on a new hue with my jazzification tendencies.
Who would of thought that the young female songwriter working out of the Brill Building in the ’60’s would continue to inspire and touch future generations of musicians.
Thanks in advance for listening to our take on Carole’s classics and as she once said, “mellow as the month of May.”
